The fourth FOTOSOMMER STUTTGART is to be held from June to September 2007 in Stuttgart.
Following up on the success in 2005 of forty-six photo exhibitions in the accompanying programme, two large main exhibitions and the ‘Kodak FOTOSOMMER Award’, FOTOSOMMER STUTTGART will again provide a cutting-edge survey of contemporary photography in 2007. FOTOSOMMER STUTTGART will be distinctively high-profile because so many positions will be shown, ranging from art photography, through documentary photography to advertising photography and will, therefore, survey the whole of the contemporary photo scene.
The works selected for the main exhibition by a jury on the basis of a competition will be presented in the Stuttgart city centre in 2007. The Württembergische Kunstverein is not just hosting the exhibition but is also our project partner for the main FOTOSOMMER exhibition.
A second main exhibition, devoted to the regional photo scene, ‘Fokus 0711’, is to be mounted at a fringe location, which will be announced shortly before the exhibition opens.
A catalogue covering all photographs exhibited and the institutions associated with them is also planned for 2007 since 2005 was such a hit.
In summer and autumn 2007 the Stuttgart region will be entirely under the sign of photography since FOTOSOMMER STUTTGART 2007 will not be the only survey of contemporary photography. The ‘Esslinger Fototriennale’ and ‘Kultur Region Stuttgart’ will also be rounding off the picture.
Photographers interested in entering the open competition from which works for the exhibition will be selected can start sending in entries now.
